BRIEF: For the six months ended 31 December 2011, Commonwealth Bank of Australia's interest income increased 4% to A$19.24B. Net interest income after loan loss provision rose 11% to A$5.99B. Net income applicable to common rose 19% to A$3.6B. Net interest income reflects an increase in interest earnings, also reflects lower provision for loan losses. Net income also reflects an increase in fee and commission income.
