Charter Hall Retail REIT, formerly Macquarie CountryWide Trust, is a property investment company. It has five operating segments: Australian investment properties, New Zealand investment properties, European investment properties, United States (US) investment properties and the real estate investment trust (REIT) operations. United States investment properties comprises controlled and joint venture investment properties. REIT operations include all non-property related activities, including derivative financial instruments, debt and expenses. During the fiscal year ended June 30, 2011, the Company disposed of its ownership interest in five properties within its Australian portfolio, including Margaret River and Manjimup in Western Australia, along with five other properties in its US portfolio, including Franklin Square in Kentucky and Orchard Square in Georgia.

BRIEF: For the six months ended 31 december 2011, Charter HallRetail REIT's revenue increased 13% to A$101.5m. Net income from countinues operation decreased 89% to A$3.7M. Revenue reflects an increase in income from Joint Venture operation. Net income was offset by an increase in property expense, management fees, higher finance costs and the presense of net fair value loss from investment held for sale and valuation losses of investment property.
