BRIEF: For the six months ended 31 December 2010, Commonwealth Bank of Australia's interest income rose 21% to A$18.47B. Net interest income after loan loss provision rose 13% to A$5.41B. Net income applicable to common rose 5% to A$3.03B. Net interest income reflects an increase in interest earnings, partially offset by a rise in interest on deposits. Net income was partially offset by higher staff costs and a lower fee & commission income.
