David Jones Limited is engaged in department store retailing and financial services alliance with American Express. It operates in two segments: Department Stores and Financial Services. On February 17, 2011, the Company opened its new, redeveloped Claremont Quarter (WA) store with 85% more selling space. On November 4, 2010, the Company launched online shopping site. Its online site commenced with just over 1,500 products on offer. In January and July 2011, the Company announced the introduction of 30 and 60 new brands respectively across its Fashion, Beauty and Home categories. The vast majority of these brands are department store exclusive. Amongst the new brands are international brands Lanvin, Dries Van Noten, Hugo Boss Women, Hackett London, GUCCI Jewellery, YSL Jewellery and new international designer brands, such as Victoria Beckham, Lucy in Disguise by Lily Allen and Kardashian Kollection.

BRIEF: For the fiscal year ended 30 July 2011, David Jones Limited's revenues decreased 4% to A$1.96B. Net income decreased 2% to A$168.1M. Revenues reflect a decrease in income from sale of goods. Net income was partially offset by decrease in employee benefit expenses, lower advertising expenses, decreased amortization expenses, a increase in sundry income, a rise in commision income and higher other income.
