Business Summary
CSR Limited (CSR) is engaged in the manufacture and supply of building products in Australia, China, Malaysia, New Zealand, Singapore and Thailand. The Company mills raw sugar from sugarcane, as well as produces renewable electricity and ethanol in Australia, and manufactures and distributes refined sugar products in Australia and New Zealand. CSR operates in four segments: Sugar, Building Products, Aluminum and Property. Its Sugar segment includes three businesses, cane products, sweeteners and bioethanol. CSR’s Building Products segment encompasses lightweight systems and insulation, glass (viridian), and bricks and roofing. The Aluminium business unit relates to its 25.24% interest in the Tomago aluminium smelter joint venture via a 70% interest in Gove Aluminium Finance Limited. The Property business unit generates revenue from the sale of industrial sites by advancing the sites, through various stages of the development cycle.

BRIEF: For the fiscal year ended 31 March 2010, CSR Limited's revenues increased 8% to A$3.75B. Net loss decreased 66% to A$111.7M. Revenues reflect an increase in income from Building products and Sugar milling business segments. Lower loss also reflects decreased warehouse & distribution costs, increased share of net profit of associate, increased dividend income and decreased other expenses from ordinary activities.
