Gloucester Coal Ltd (GCL) is an Australia-based company. The Company is engaged in the production and marketing of Gloucester coking and thermal coals from the Stratford Mine comprising the Bowens Road North pit, Roseville pits and co-disposal, and from the Weismantel pit at the Duralie Mine. Its subsidiaries include Westralian Prospectors NL, Eucla Mining NL, CIM Duralie Pty Ltd, CIM Stratford Pty Ltd, CIM Services Pty Ltd, CIM Mining Pty Ltd and Stratford Coal Pty Ltd. On August 4, 2010, the Company announced that it had entered into an agreement with Noble Group Limited to acquire Noble’s interests in the Middlemount Joint Venture, a near-term, open-cut metallurgical coal mine in the Bowen Basin of Queensland. In July 2011, the Company acquired Donaldson Coal Holdings Ltd from Noble Group Limited and Ellemby Holdings Pty Limited.
