ASX functions as a market operator, clearing house, payments system facilitator and central securities depository. ASX also oversees compliance with its operating rules, promotes standards of corporate governance among Australia’s listed companies and helps to educate retail investors.

Financial Summary
BRIEF: For the six months ended 31 December 2011, ASX Ltd.'s revenues increased 3% to A$410.5M. Net income increased 2% to A$175.6M. Revenues reflect an increase in income from derivatives and a higher interest income. Net income was partially offset by an increase in staff expenses, a higher depreciation expenses, increased occupancy expenses and a rise in finance costs. ASX Group was created through the merger of ASX and the Sydney Futures Exchange.
