Pike River Coal Limited (Pike River) is a New Zealand-based coal mining company. The Company, along with its subsidiaries, is primarily engaged in the exploration, evaluation, development and production of coal. It operates a coal mine that lies under the Paparoa Ranges, almost 50 kilometers northeast of the coastal town of Greymouth on the west coast of the South Island. In February 2010, the Company shipped 20,000 tons of coal from Port of Lyttelton to Port Bedi in India. In September 2010, it again shipped 22,000 tons of coal to India. The Company exports its products to India, China, Brazil and South Korea. On August 2010, two roadway tunnels driven to the end of the first hydro-mining panel were completed. The Company's wholly owned subsidiary is Pike Energy Limited.

BRIEF: For the fiscal year ended 30 June 2010, Pike River Coal Limited's revenues totaled NZ$3.3M, up from NZ$5K. Net loss totaled NZ$39M, up from NZ$13M. Revenues reflect an increase in sales from Company's products.
