Westfield Group is a retail property group. The Company has interests in and operates a portfolio of 119 regional shopping centers in Australia, New Zealand, the United States and the United Kingdom, with almost 24,000 retailers in more than 10 million square meters of retail space. Westfield is a vertically integrated shopping centre group. It manages aspects of shopping centre development from design and construction through to leasing, management and marketing. It operates in three segments: Property investments, Property and project management, and Development. Property investments segment includes net property income from existing shopping centers and completed developments, revaluation of existing centers and other operational expenses. Property and project management segment includes external fee income from third parties and development fees, and associated business expenses. In October 2011, it sold 50% interest in the retail component of Westfield Stratford City (UK).

BRIEF: For the six months ended 30 June 2011, Westfield Group's revenues decreased 25% to A$1.36B. Net income decreased 32% to A$650.9B. Revenues reflects a decrease in income from property development & project management revenue and property revenue. Net income benefited from decrease in property development & project management costs, a fall in corporate costs and lower property expenses & outgoings.
